Last year I had the opportunity to work with a local downtown Naperville, IL business that focuses on furniture restoration and custom design.  The company is led by two very smart creatives, Paul and Dan. They were looking for help with before and after professional photos of their furniture projects to share on their website, social media and wanted images for promotional materials.  We set up a studio space in their office to capture the before and after photos of these furniture pieces.  I also went onsite to local businesses, restaurants, hotels and homes to photograph the beautiful furniture in their locations.  If you are in the Naperville, IL area or suburbs of Chicago and have a furniture need please consider the team at Wehrli Furniture for your project.  Learn more about Wehrli Furniture .

I have enjoyed working with several professionals that were in need of new headshots or images for their websites.  I like partnering with local businesses to provide product photography or help with a specific project.  See more of my work here of headshots and product photography.

I love the fall season and of course it’s part of our family tradition to visit an apple orchard and go apple picking.  I was feeling a bit bummed that we had to start with a new orchard in North Carolina as we had really grown to love the one we visited the past few years in Illinois.  But I am always up for an adventure and like exploring new places.  I had it narrowed down to two locations and we selected Stepp’s Hillcrest Orchard located in Hendersonville, North Carolina.  We went this past Sunday on a gorgeous almost summer like fall day.  For all the info on the orchard and apples check the report for your visit.  The drive took about two hours and it was nice and can only image it in a few weeks when the fall colors are at their peak.  The orchard was nicely run, the donuts were devoured by all of us, we did the apple cannon – the favorite of the boys, wagon ride, played on the hay bales and then finally went to pick the apples.  I wish I had more photos but I was shooting video and need to get some time to edit that and share it with you all.  Overall it was a great day just really wish it was a bit closer.  Now we are baking apple bread and then apple pies tomorrow.  I wish you could smell how great the bread is right now baking in my oven.  Here are a few photos of our day.  Hope your family makes it to the orchard this fall season.

I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite things right now.

1) Monopoly Deal – this summer we introduced the boys to Monopoly after having enjoyed Jr. Monopoly for a few years.  They love the money and buying of properties in the game.  After several long games I remembered we had Monopoly Deal and brought it out to try it.  After a few practice rounds they had the game down.  We like this quick version and that we can play it easily outside, take it with us on trips and play at the table at a restaurant while we wait for our food to be served.

2. Tassel Earrings – I am so in love with the fun statement earrings from Stella & Dot.  These black ones work with so many of my clothes and can add that something fun to my outfit.  I can either wear it dressy or casual.  I just love them so much and think every lady should have a pair in their jewelry stash.  Here is the link to shop the earrings.

3. Fog – lately we have had some foggy mornings and I just love waking up to it.  I love the haunting feeling it can bring since Halloween and pumpkins are on my brain.  I also love the peacefulness of a foggy morning and watching it burn off.  When I can I have to bribe one of the kids to go take a few photos in it.

4. I also love and can put anything that is black & white stripe on my favorites list.  One of my recent purchases is the Black & White Stripe Weekender Bag.  It can hold so much and fits the TSA sizes for a carryon bag.  When I first saw this bag that another friend used for a trip this summer I knew I had to have it.  I loved the style and like carrying something so stylish and cute.  When I share anything from Stella & Dot it is something I have, use and love!  Check out the bag here.

5. I made a recent visit to Home Goods and just had to purchase this fun white and gold pumpkin.  It’s my first new fall decor and about the only thing I have put out.  This week it’s in the 80s and doesn’t feel like fall to me so I can’t bring the rest of it out yet.  But I do like this pumpkin and it makes we smile every time I walk past it in my house.  Something so simple and elegant brings me a bit of joy.
