I have always loved spending Saturday morning at the farmers market.  Who doesn’t love some coffee, maybe a little pastry and shopping local on a sunny morning.  Even when traveling it’s a great way to see the spirit of a town when you visit their farmers market.  I recently took the boys to the Davidson Farmers Market. We also explored the beautiful grounds of the local college.  They had plenty of stands with lots of fresh produce, flowers and other goodies to try.  We enjoyed the music, the nice playground and some popsicle treats.  I can’t way to go back and try breakfast from the food truck – I had too much to carry and watch with my littles on my own that day and was easily distracted with photo opportunities.  If you haven’t explored the market it is still open through fall.

This past Sunday we explored the U.S. National Whitewater Center. What a very cool place that is so close to us and those living around Charlotte.  If you love the outdoors and adventures then surely you must make a day of the activities here if you haven’t already.  We went to walk around and see how much of the kid activities we would be able to try out on our next visit.  Some of the activities have age and weight restrictions and need closed toe shoes too.  Make sure you check out the website and all the info before venturing here, otherwise they sell or rent what you may need.  We also enjoyed lunch and a great local beer and the views of the rafting.  A few photos for the rope courses, rafting, zip lines, and rock climbing.  There is more here than what I took photos of -bike trails and river fun.  These are all taken with my Lensbaby Edge 80 – I like the challenge and different look of this lens.  The boys can’t wait to go back and do some of the activities.

My parents came for a quick visit and we rented a boat to explore the lake.  This was only the boys second time out on a boat this summer and first time trying out tubing.  I started out with each of them and by the end of the day the boys were going together and the adults were not invited to join them.  I loved watching their faces from the boat and capturing some memories.  Their asks for turns and faster speeds increased as the day continued.  They also love taking a turn driving and having a snack on the water.  Fun day for sure and can’t wait to do it again next week when our friends visit from Illinois.  It’s been great to live by Lake Norman and hope to be on the water again soon!
